BTA: “Bulgaria rattles Berlin’s Olympic Stadium”
This is one of many headlines that circulated in the media around the world. In 2011 Loretta Dimitrova was the creator and choreographer of the composition for nearly 2000 Bulgarians, who danced led by one of Bulgaria’s leading artists, Elitsa Todorova, at the Olympic Stadium of Berlin, Germany, broadcast live on more than 200 international TV channels. It took three months to prepare, with Lira Dance dancers trained to act as leaders to the thousand-strong Bulgaria dance company.
In March 2016, Loretta Dimitrova again works to create the composition of Bulgaria’s participation at the World Culture Festival at Delhi, India.
The biggest event of the kind in the world, the stage covering the area of six football pitches, with over 3000 participants from around the world and 4.5 million spectators.

Loretta Dimitrova was born in 1970 in the city of Sofia. She graduated from the Technical University in Sofia in 1994, got a Management and Marketing degree from the Danish College in 1996, and also received a qualification in Bulgarian folklore choreography in 2012.
Dancer and soloist with the dancing companies Rosna Kitka and Sofia Representational Ensemble from 1977 to 1989 under Associate Professor Petar Grigorov, and from 1989 to 2000 under Mr. Dimitar Manov. Master class in Cuban salsa by Anjel Lopes from 2000 to 2003 and Pambos Dancing Center from 2003 to 2006. Training in Cuba – 2006 and in the Dominican Republic – 2007.
She studies:
- Bulgarian, Serbian, Greek, and Romanian folk dances – Balkanfolk 2007, 2008 and 2009 under Emil Genov, Vladimi Mutavdzhich, Aikaterini Luludi and Marius Ursu.
- Character dance under Anatoliy Klochkov with Rosna Kitka and Lira Dance.
- Argentinian tango under Chavdar Krumov – Sofia Tango.

Berlin is one of Loretta Dimitrova’s joint projects with Elitsa Todorova. She works to create her dances on music of renowned Bulgarian artists together with Stoyan Yankulov, Alexander Alexandrov – Alex, Mimi Ivanova and Razvigor Popov.
Author and director of four charity performances “I-BRE” with Bulgarian choreography class, which received gratitude letter from Ms. Daniela Bobeva – Deputy Prime Minister of Economic Development. Author and director of two own dance compositions for Lira Dance ensemble – “Fusion”, 2014 and “Ugly Duckling”, 2015. Holder of a number of recognitions and awards from Grand Dance Prix of Sofia, of recommendations from international companies for organization of events, trainings, and team buildings.
